Reductions

1. Verify current project:

2. Input these values to reduction calculator

Instructions

The land use/land cover values presented in this table are intended to be used as an input to The Chesapeake Bay Facility Assessment Scenario Tool (BayFAST). BayFAST will calculate reduction totals for nitrogen, phosphorus, and sediment in pounds per year (lbs/yr). The general steps are as follows:

  1. In BayFAST, add a “facility” using the HUC 12 boundary your project falls within. Save the default land use values.
  2. Add a new “scenario” to the facility you just created and name it Baseline. Do not add any projects.
  3. Add another new scenario to your facility and name it Comparison. In the “Urban BMP” scenario worksheet, add a new “project” and fill out the land use information using either the footprint acreage or treatment acreage land use/land cover values from the table below.
  4. Which you choose depends on the BMP type.
  5. Compare your two scenarios to determine the total reduction for each pollutant.
  6. On this page, enter those values in the fields below and save them to you project.

For detailed instructions, see the documentation page.
